Happy Memorial Day!  I’m leaving the farm behind for the weekend and taking a trip to Seattle.  When the summer gets hot, I’ll talk about how to water while you’re on vacation but we’re not up to 90 degree days yet.

I’ll return from the weekend with highlights from the Seattle farmers markets and vegetables we don’t often see here in the Midwest.

Enjoy.

Dear Farmer Jay: You have an amazing website, it’s informative and beautiful…the picture from the Seattle market rivals Bucerias! Very informative. Thank you!

I visit Seattle quite a bit from my home in London. There is the most amazing stall in Pike place market selling the strongest garlic paste I have ever tasted!! Phew!

I didn’t see any garlic paste but they did have plenty of garlic. I still think that I was early in the season. I’m sure an August visit would show a much greater variety. Thanks for the comment.
